The Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity (ORAC) is a method of measuring antioxidant capacities of different foods. It was developed by the scientists at the National Institute on Aging in the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Baltimore, Maryland, but it does not mean that this method is approved by NIH. Recently, US Department of Agriculture USDA listed a database of the ORAC value in its home page (www.usda.gov) this assay is used to measure the ability of food to reduce the affects of the peroxyl free radical, the most abundant free radical found in our body. Recently the ORAC assay was used to test the Acai freeze-dried formula MonaVie uses, the results were literally off the chart. Well this is my second post published with the new iPhone Word Press application. My first impressions are fairly good. The creation of the post was very easy, although I should note that if you want html markup within your post you will need to know HTML as there is no WYSIWYG editor, no biggie. Adding images to your posts was very smooth as well. You can capture a new image from your camera, take a screen shot or select an image from your Camera Roll. I did however experience some issues. There was a phantom post that was added along with the first post. I will check after this post is added to see it it happens again. There seemed to be another glitch, the application seems to abruptly shut down during the publishing of the post. I believe at this time I will contribute it to the crappy wifi connection that I am currently on as well as the crappy 2.0(5A347) firmware that I am currently running. I will wait until I test this with 2.0.1 FW that hopefully will be out this week before I start to complain. All in all I would rate this application a 10 and best of all it’s free. WordPress iPhone application was released to the app store last night. As you can see it’s been a while since I had time to put anything down here. Now with this new app I will be able to jot down some notes rather frequently. This will be my first post with the new app so we will see how it goes. So far everything has worked smoothly. I was recently asked for the Nutritional facts for Monavie “The Premier Acai Blend” Nutritional Drink. This was something I had on the back of the bottle but found it difficult to find in electronic form. Once I did I decided to post it here in the hopes that it may help others looking for the same information.
The recommended daily servings for Monavie is 1-2 ounces per day. This is equal to the 5 daily recommended servings of fruit. Wow a shot of juice is equal to 5 apples, bananas, oranges ect. Cool. Much easier to get my daily allotment with this juice.

Well, there a lot of beautiful free themes out there but I just could not find one with everything I was looking for. This theme I am working with now is very clean and has a nice glossy look. I was looking for something darker but that may come later. This theme was written by xiapdesign for WordPress 2.1. Some plugins were either obsolete or out of date so I decided to update it a little. I updated the plugins to their newest or at least WordPress 2.5 compatible versions. I changed wp-contact-form plugin to Contact Form 7 and made the template pages widgit aware. Now at least I can customize my sidebar. Now I am more comfortable with this theme. Since my day job is software and web development I feel assured that I can pick up php fairly quickly and mod several other themes to fit my needs. Stay tuned for different looks.
The search is on for just the right theme. I have found many great themes out there but I haven’t found one that fit all of my needs and desires yet. You will probably see many changes here as I work through the many themes that are available to find just the right one. I’m sure that I will have to enhance the code to meet my needs so stay tuned it should be exciting .
